Research Grants

The Alberta Professional Horticultural Growers Congress and Foundation Society (APHGCFS) is committed to the development and enhancement of the horticulture industry in Alberta.

Monies generated from the Congress’ past portions of the Annual Prairie West Horticultural Trade Show are held in a Foundation account to support horticulture research and scholarships (eg. Olds College). Although the Congress and Trade Show will no longer be held, the account remains active. Although the Congress and Trade Show are no longer held, the account remains active.

Research proposals are called annually, reviewed by Committee representatives, and awarded during the Alberta Horticultural Congress.

Eligibility:

  1. A research project on any industry related horticultural crop

  2. Researchers from or affiliated with accredited Western Canadian research facilities

  3. Researchers will be required to submit a one-page executive summary of findings each year prior to October 15th. Summary will be posted on the Congress website.

Available funding will amount to $55,000.00 each year.
